STARS operates at a single data processing installation center. Other significant supporting software utilities for STARS are IBM's BookManager, EC-FORMS, and OfficeVision. The primary relational Data Base Management System (DBMS) is Data Base 2 (DB2). Customer Information Control System (CICS)/ESA is the terminal controller and transaction driver, currently handling over 200K transactions per day. STARS hardware and software consists of IBM and compatible mainframes operating under the Multiple Virtual Storage / Enterprise Systems Architecture (MVS/ESA) and Virtual Machine / ESA (VM/ESA). Funds Distribution and Departmental Reporting (STARS FDR).One Pay including Electronic Commerce / Electronic Data Interchange (EC/EDI), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), and commercial entitlement (STARS One Pay).
